Land That I Love

Posted by nfpvic at 01:39 PM on November 3, 2004.

First off: THANK YOU SO MUCH for the B-day wishes everyone!! You're all so sweet~ I had a wonderful birthday, btw! (hence my internet absense for the last few days :P)

ANYWAY...

President George W. Bush has won re-election. God Bless America. I know that my family and I were praying for him, and I know so many others were as well. I'm glad all the evils of campaigning are over and I'm very pleased with Kerry's decision to graciously concede the election to President Bush. Kerry could have very easily been an ass and could have contested Ohio and could have dragged this out til Nov. 17th, but he resisted and did the right thing. Thank you, Mr. Kerry, for admitting defeat! I hope you do consider this as an option.

There are so many reasons to be joyous today.. and here are a few that I can think of off the top of my head:
+ George W. Bush is President and Commander-in-Chief
+ Dino Rossi just may be governor of Washington State (GOD I hope so!)
+ Republican increases its majority and control in Senate AND the House
+ John F. Kerry is not President and Commander-in-Chief
+ John Edwards is not 2nd in command
+ The crass and crude Teresa Heinz-Kerry is not 1st lady
+ Daschle has been dumped
+ Wall Street is kicking ass right now
+ The people of France are mourning
+ Michael Moore is either crapping his pants or eating a hamburger right now
+ Michael Moore has to face the fact that his movie did jack sh#t in regards to the election
+ George Soros is "distressed" *laughs*
+ Eminem, Avril, Whoopi Goldburg, and other Hollywood idiots are thoroughly pissed
+ My liberal English teacher is drinking herself stupid with the other liberals in my class (at least that's my surmise... my english class was cancelled today, and the only ones who didn't know just happened to be Bush supporters... interesting :P)
+ So many people (students and teachers) at my high school who know nothing or close to nothing about politics and who just hate Bush for no legitimate reason are so incredibly pissed right now. ...Oh man. That cracks me up just thinking about it XDD
+ My man Zell Miller is smiling today
+ Former President Ronald Reagan is smiling up in Heaven
+ And finally.. we have a man to lead us through the next four years who supports our military, stands firm in his decisions and beliefs, has terrific foreign policy and does not waver in the face of political pressure, a man who has saved this nation from the Clinton recession and will continue to steer this economy into prosperity, a man who realizes the important connection between education and employment, a man who has devoted his life to God, a man of class, dignity, and integrity to call our President.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR VOTING AND GOD BLESS AMERICA FOR MAKING THE RIGHT DECISION!! The next four years will be amazing!

FOUR MORE YEARS OF PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH!!!

More and more soft bigotry.

Posted by nfpvic at 07:20 PM on November 8, 2004.

"Female by Nature, Feminine by Culture" is the title of my unfortunate essay that I was forced to write for Anthropology. In this particular essay, we explain "how a person's sex compares to his or her gender." Oh my GOD. Why, oh WHY are we differentiating between 'sex' and 'gender'? Sad thing is, I know the answer. Because Anthropology is a class of the very confused.

By the way, on Friday we're going to have a Guest Lesbian come in and speak to us about... being a lesbian. *head bangs on keyboard* How utterly insulting is that to homosexuals?? God. This is the exact reason why I hate this class. Everything is so wrong. We should not be treating this particular woman as an oddity because of her sexual orientation. That's flagrant prejudice! And yet it's okay, because after all, she's just gay, right? *sarcasm, obviously*

Then Mrs. Anthropology Teacher complains that our society is so often "heterosexist," or we assume that everyone is hetero. Holy shit, is this NOT an assumption that our entire class is straight? Not only that, this is assuming that we're all straight AND we're all so out of touch with these "peculiar homosexuals" that we're having a Guest Lesbian come in and explain to us what it's like to be gay! And if you can't understand my disgust at this, imagine what would happen if we had a "Guest Black Person" come in a speak to us. That'd be OBVIOUSLY wrong and completely racist. Yet if the same concept is applied to one's sexual orientation, it's perfectly okay?

Freaking ass.

Oh, on a plus side, I'm a reporter for the Pierce College newspaper!! Five cents per word for every 2000 word article, seven cents for each additional word after 2000. Meaning at least 100 bucks per article. OH YEAH~~

Now I'm off to worship Jesus :D

EVIL ALARM CLOCKS!

Posted by nfpvic at 10:41 PM on November 15, 2004.

I woke up this morning already five minutes late for my math class. My stupid alarm clock didn't go off, so of course, sleepyhead me just slept riiight through the hours until my mom came in and freaked out because I was in bed and not in class. I'm the queen of delayed reaction though, which is kind of good in cases like this, hehe. So I just changed into some clothes, brushed my hair a little, grabbed my stuff, grabbed a granola bar, and headed out the door.

In the end I got to school about 30 minutes late, which really sucked because on Mondays and Thursdays I have quizzes in math that you can't make up no matter what. Oh well; he drops your lowest two quiz grades from his gradebook, and I've been doing fine on the quizzes. And it turns out that today was just a day of group work, so it was no big deal. It could have been much, much worse (like if I had come in late on an exam date, or if he had been giving a lecture), so I'm pretty grateful in that respect.

I just hated the fact that I felt gross all day :x My skin likes to grease up really easily, and not taking a shower really sends my face in oil-overload. There was a wonderful side effect to sleeping in two extra hours: I was awake and alert in all of my classes! Moreover, I was awake and alert enough after school to write up two essays, one that turned out to be 11 full pages of documentary, and another that was a skimpy one and a half about sexual orientation (for anthropology, needless to say). Sweet deal. Lots of other weird things happened, but I'm saving it for tomorrow, friends :P Good night!

"O~ohhh god, that's a car!"

Posted by nfpvic at 06:27 PM on November 22, 2004.

AHH!! I almost crashed today driving Kat home after KB, turning right on a red light without checking for left-turners :F OH well, I'm happy that I can emphasize the almost.

Today was a pretty good day. I'm feeling alright, although I have a-lots and a-lots of homework left to do. Crap, I should really do that now.

But before I leave, I must say that there are five words/phrases that I need to incorporate more in my life:
1) "Handsome" -- no one says "handsome" anymore.. it's always "hot" or "cute" or "sexy" or whatnot. I like handsome.
2) "Plum forgot" -- Kat said that today when we were walking through the halls of CHS waiting for KB (ooh double acronym; I feel secretive). It was really, really awesome
3) "Damnation" -- I said that today in KB. It's a very underrated word, deserving of excessive overuse. (and redundancy, if possible)
4) "Absolutely yes" -- OH geez, that is the absolute-coolest way to express an affirmative response
5) "I totally disrespect that" -- ... to those who get the reference: XD

-- Speaking of "yes":

yes is a pleasant country:
if's wintry
(my lovely)
let's open the year

both is the very weather
(not either)
my treasure,
when violets appear

love is a deeper season
than reason;
my sweet one
(and april's where we're)

Two more classes to go

Posted by nfpvic at 02:16 PM on November 30, 2004.

I finished my english portfolio last night (this morning?) at 1:40 am. After washing up and etc., I got to bed at 2. By the time I was in bed, though, I couldn't fall asleep since I had been forcing myself to stay away for so long and my brain wasn't cooperating. BUT the important thing: English 101 = DONE. Now it's just waiting for my grade...

School was alright today; math was the usual, english was easy, antho was... anthro (but I think the teacher likes me now! ABSOLUTELY YES.) After all that, I had a podiatrist appointment at 11:30. Of course, I was actually seen at 1:00, and the treatment took about, oh, 10 minutes? I was so pissed! And tired. Dead, dead tired. Then the receptionist wasn't even in so I couldn't schedule my next appointment e_e; Instead I drove home and ate crackers and a piece of my brother's birthday cake left over from saturday. Costco deliciousness.
