well, ya know
Posted by nfpvic at 04:53 PM on April 30, 2004.
Oooh jeez, jazz band was really hilarious for the first time in a long time XD Well kyle was talking about how he hates his job but his one manager was okay since even though he was just a manager at KFC, he was a great guy just shit happens to good people and etc. So then Jeremy randomly and non-sarcastically said, "oh, that'd be a good eulogy" and we were like ...wth? XD So Joel was all like, "yeah, if I were speaking at the funeral and I didn't know the guy too well I'd just go up and say, 'well he didn't accomplish jack in life but, well, ya know, sh#t happens'" XD I dunno, it was really, really funny at the time and the way he said it, trust me!
Today was good! I felt pretty sick which was bad, but otherwise Jesus shared his love to me today! First I got an A on my English paper, raising my grade back to a 97.1 (aaah I want a 98-99... :/ but I'm getting there!) and then we didn't have a test in orchestra!! PRAISE THE LORD for I didn't practice and didn't even know what to practice since was gone when he announced the test last time..
Then track.. I got sooo insanely lucky. First I was thiiiiis close to skipping practice, but I decided to go at the last minute. So I was late because I took my time getting on my track crap and I took a while trying to find my hair thingy, but I decided to just screw it and go w/o looking too long.. When I walked in, Heather was freaking out and waving me to hurry up, so I sat down quickly and without being noticed. Salzman was in the middle of taking attendance of the girls and I made it juuuust in time for Salzman to call my name. Doesn't sound like that big of a deal; I was just almost late for roll call. But then I soon found out that anyone late/absent on practice today would have been kicked off the team o_o; HOLY CRAP! XD I was soo lucky! It was so scary.. like NO ONE went to practice today either! It was so hot and it's Friday and Salzy was piiissed.. man I love Jesus~~
Seriously, thank you God! Someone's looking out for me up there. Practice was easy too~ :D

Had the Jazz/Symphonic Band car wash today. It was SO much fun!! There were sooo many people who wanted their car washed! I was in shock. I've never participated in a car wash, so I didn't know what to expect.. but it's surprisng how many people are willing to spend five dollars for high school kids to crappily wash their car. I was a sign-waver and occasional car-dryer, along w/ a whole bunch of other people :D I especially had fun waving signs with Holly, Heejung, Luis, and Kyle.. but it was fun when I waved signs alone too *grins* great times..
When the car wash was all over, Travis came by and we prepared for Ray's surpriseish thingy! Then we met up with Ray and went to Narrows and DDRed... MAN I suck at the machine XD but it's fun anyhow! I don't know how people can use the bar.. it's supposed to be much easier but I think it's so much harder. Then we went to Wendy's and I got my dinner.. haha only 350ish calories (Ultimate Chicken Grill w/o sauce, ketchup or mayo + a couple of fries + a taste of ray's frostie + diet coke).. good deal! Pretty yummy too.. I had to go home really soon though :/ which sucked. Overall I had a blast w/ Ray and Trav, hehe. I feel kinda bad though since I was so tired from the car wash, I think I wasn't my usual self >_<; I wish I had had more energy.. we three will have to hang out again sometime ^^
OOH but now that I'm home, I can see truly how burnt I got from the car wash.. it's bad!! I'm so red everywhere.. thank GOD I didn't wear shorts. My arms and face are burning. I have petroleum jelly on all visable skin XD so I'm really greasy and nasty. It's nice and soothing though.. ahhh..

waaaah panic!

oooh my goodness.. band concert tonight! And I have a solo in Fly Like an Eagle.. at first I was really excited and happy, but now I'm soooo nervous!! This is my first ever completely improvised solo in a performance :O aaaah!!!!
Okay, so today I got my results from Running Start... and... I passed both college level reading and math!! :D Ha I just barely made it for math though.. I failed the Intermediate Math test but passed the College Level, so I made it in! XD but that's pretty dang good because I'm pretty sure only two other people who passed the math section (Ray and Monica), and a) they're geniuses and b) they're in Pre-Calc already so I don't have to compare myself to them :P Ugh but these two.. people.. during lunch were being rather rude :/ They were absolutely convinced that they could have passed the tests easily and they should have taken it. LIKE #$%# they could have passed the tests! One of them is mediocrely smart, but the other one is a complete idiot. Still, there's no way they would have passed. Cocky b-words :P
Ha, they might have the URL to my webbie so they might read this.. OH WELL I don't care they were being rude and they really overestimate their intellectual capabilities if they believe they could have scored as high as me, Ray or Monica on those tests, hehe~

'can you see me when you look?'

So, the concert was on Wednesday.. I did pretty well on my songs, for jazz band that is. My Symphonic Band pieces.. uhh.. *cough* hehe. My actual solo was kinda bad since 16 bars are not enough to make a good solo (unless you're brandon), but the free jazz soli thing in the beginning was really good I think! It was fun and the rhythm section was
killing (in a good way) :D I'm not sure if I want to hear myself on CD though. I'm always kinda scared..
Well today, I went to
Meg's house! We had so much fun.. we baked and cleaned!
Meg's house looks SO CLEAN now! T'was the work of an Asian.. XD We made pizza that was godly and brownies and cookies.. holy crap it was all so good! I must have eaten so much excess calories.. to try to balance it out, I just didn't eat dinner (save for carrots and cucumber) and I DDRed a bit. I'm really rusty at DDR right now.. haven't done it for a while. But I'll have more time since track is over~ last meet was yesterday! So sad.. not :P
And so, tomorrow we have band contest. We have to be there at 7:00, meaning I gotta wake up early *pouts* On a Saturday! That's a crime. Oh well, I should probably get to sleep then...

EDIT: Forgot to mention.
Sam is a genius; his artwork rocks. Some of my favorites:
-
were all gonna die
-
where are you
-
but he said i was beautiful
-
he did worry
-
why are you so sad?
-
if only i could reach them
-
don't wake me
His drawings are so simple and range from crazy to hilarious to poignant :D]

saturday of band-iness!
Posted by nfpvic at 07:05 PM on May 8, 2004.
Today was band contest! Both Concert Band and Symphonic Band played really well in my opinion. Mr. DePalatis was happy which is always good. It was actually rather boring, save for a couple of memorable moments and quotes.. like my side convos with Abi and Holly were great, and when Ben P. and his friend sat behind us.. omg. He and Luis were being HILARIOUS!! They were using 'sex' as an adjective just to confuse other bands.. example: "Wow, you guys did a really sex job." and the looks people were giving them: XDDD! I was dying~ Ben's so nice too, and he's a JUNIOR so he should still be here next year.. BUT he might move! *screams* he better not..! *shakes fist*
So then I got home, ate, lounged, then it was time for the Jazz Band gig at Coffee House. We were playing there to kick off this fundraiser for cancer research, but other people were performing for them too.. so when we got there, there was this group of old people doing barbershop... yeah, like the old 19-whatever singing style. It was kinda cute, kinda funny, and kinda embarrassing.. like I felt so bad when they were straining to reach a high note or when they were out of key due to their oldness :X but still! I stayed throughout the entire thing w/ Jessi and the mormons in jazz band (the others went outside because they were too cool e_e; ) and we clapped and stuff and it was fun. Then we played and I kept F'ING UP COMPLETELY XD but t'was all good. A lot of other people played really really well, like Adam -killed- on his solo for Maiden Voyage~ ahh it was so good! The people really liked our performance overall and demanded an encore of which Mr. D. did not want to give.. so as punishment (and to ensure they wouldn't ask for another) we played On the Road Again.. ew XD
Jessi gave me a ride home and I got to eat Chinese :F I completely gorged and I'm soo full right now! And tomorrow I should probably go on a run to get rid of all the calories I must have accumulated this weekend. Pizza + brownie + cookies + chinese = lots of crap in two short days!
I can't believe it's only Saturday, but I'm really glad. I need to spend all day tomorrow studying and preparing for the Julius Caesar test.. and baking something for my mommy. Mother's Day is tomorrow; don't forget!

Holy crap.
French Toast poptarts are so insanely good. Actually,
Chocolate Chip are best, but we don't have any chocolate chip anymore :/
Sorry, just had to share. Now back to reading

The Sims 2 is to be released on....
September 17th!
AAAAH is it just me or is that an eternity from now? *sobs* Plus, by then school will be up again.. so I probably won't get it in an attempt to preserve my education. Ick.
I finished my homework, but I still have a vocab test to study for. 140 words.. almost to 150!

two tickets for burnt popcorn?? great deal!
Posted by nfpvic at 06:03 PM on May 15, 2004.
So on Friday, I volunteered at the UPP carnival. IT WAS SOOO FUN!! Full of wonderful people! I ran into Caro, Ye Won, and Melissa at the crosswalk, I was greeted with a hug from Ray, and as soon as I got there I saw Jinny Tammy, Holly, and Scott!! So we went to our stations. Jinny Caro, Melissa, Scott and I were all at Concessions; without a doubt, the best place to be! I had loads of fun giving kids candy and going out and selling popcorn :D They were so cute~
At 7:30 me and were signed up to work the prize booth. It wasn't as cool :/ but hehe I kept on breaking rules and letting kids have things for cheaper amounts.. I mean c'mon, it's a carnival-- they should have fun! The cake walk was taking place right in front us, and those baked goods looked --so-- delicious.. So, I managed to guilt one of the parents into giving the volunteers some cookies! X3 We shared and I gave cookies to random lucky kids that I saw, because I knew that if I were a kid, I'd be sooo happy to randomly get a free cookie!
I need to get more involved with volunteer work. I really, really enjoy it! Especially when it involves eating :D
(oh, but the bad thing is, it's been only about a week since track ended and I think I'm already getting fat *falls*could be me going crazy, but I'm not so sure.. ah well, cross country starts June 2nd! must convince others to join... *eyes scott suspiciously*)
EDIT: Oh, but y'know what SUCKS? I forgot to mention! I fell in the Curtis parking lot and broke my pants!!! (hehe I fell in front of rusty and grace :x) Maaan I liked those pants too.. they were 16 bucks! oh well, I'm still wearing them.. as is! :D

notice of leave :)
Posted by nfpvic at 02:48 PM on May 18, 2004.
Well, today's the day we (the orchestra people) leave to Cannon Beach~ As I've been telling everyone who cares to listen, I'm not all that enthused.. violin really isn't my thing :/ I think it'll be fun anyway. Monica's bringing her laptop and we're going to watch Kill Bill and Life is Beautiful!! :D!
Ahhhh but I'm concerned about getting fat on this trip :X Eating fast food... 5 times? without exercise? The band trip to Canada will be even worse.. ack. Well I'm packing along veggies and fruits (to Oregon, not Canada) and hopefully I'll make good decisions when deciding what to eat. OH! And maybe I can get a run in w/ Britney or Jinny around Cannon Beach, since we have a whooole lot of free time.. hmm... Ahhh I'll be stressing about my weight until cross country starts up again June 2nd *falls*
Ooh I'm exhausted.. I went to bed at about 1:00 am last night (or this morning?) because I couldn't start finishing my essay or any other homework until around 8:00. Our jazz band gig yesterday lasted soo long. It was crazy and it wasn't worth it. Very few audience members even realized we were there; we were just background to them. Still, I got to hear Mr. Dickerson play piano! He's so amazingly good.. one of the best I've heard in my entire life! I need to find out if he teaches lessons *grins*

long story -really- short
Posted by nfpvic at 10:40 PM on May 22, 2004.
Cannon Beach Trip = meh. Some things awesome, others not so great :/
One-Acts on Friday = Pretty good. Who Shot Who? (or whatever) was well-acted, but not very good plot. Antigone was really, really well-directed and acted, but didn't like the story all too much. Antigone also had lots of crazy editing that really worked out wonderfully :O
One-Acts on Saturday = Amazing. Scuba Lessons was cute; again, great acting and this time a wonderful little story. Then holy @#$#. Finding the Sun was absolutely outstanding. Best one by FAR. I loved it; I was thiiis close to crying. Very profound, very thought-provoking, just fantastic all around. Jesse did an amazing job directing and it took a lot of courage to choose something so controversial. Definitely deserved MUUUUUCH more praise than he received. Confessions had arguably the best acting, but didn't like the story.
I'll explain more tomorrow! :D
