More manga gushing! And Procrastination!

Posted by nfpvic at 08:28 PM on January 2, 2004.

I've got a plethora of homework that'll be due all within the first week school gets back in gear, so what am I doing? Leeching manga again, of course! XD

Ushi is quickly becoming one of my most beloved scanlation groups.. they have niiice taste in manga! I'm so glad I stumbled upon it. Kimi wa Pet is awesome. From the description, I was a little weirded out at first.. I mean, an office lady who takes in this 20-year-old guy as a pet? o_O; It somehow sounds very wrong. But WAAH it's sooo good! I love the Christmas chapter.. so cute X3

So after I read that manga, I decided to try the others, and wow. I am addicted to just about everything. Well, I could live with Sora Sora (ribon manga x__x; back away..) but that's beside the point. Gokusen is great, despite the bleh art. It's so funny and SCORE deals with the yakuza! (I seem to have developed a yakuza fetish after reading Tokyo Crazy Paradise :P) Cromartie consists of nice, concise, and hilarious short stories, and Bus Gamer.. Mangaka. of. Saiyuki. WAH! *worships the sexah artwork* hehe. I've yet to read Yougen no Chi or AirGear, but WOW, Airgear has a cool cover XD

What else did I read today.. a couple of one-shots, and oh! I read Confessions, a joint project between Mangascreener and Jinmen Juushin. That was... creepy. And pretty good! XD Killer ending o.o

Ahh, I'm going to enjoy my freetime for the rest of winter break, since I know when school starts again, it'll be like, a week before semester finals *falls to the floor* Can't wait -_-;

Posting again! :P

Posted by nfpvic at 09:22 PM on January 2, 2004.

Yeah, I know I just posted like, 10 minutes ago, but I want to start cross-posting to my LiveJournal now XD I've been neglecting the poor baby due to its completely hideous layout at the moment. Not very nice, eh?

Well, my break has been going smoothly. I should have been working more on school work, but hell, it's break! Breaks are meant for fun and laziness, are they not? I keep on getting this feeling of anxiety as if I'm screwing myself over by not homeworking, but when I check what I have to do and the due dates and all that, I'm really doing quite well.

...Okay, so I had full intentions to post a completely normal post about my break so far, but AAAAAAAAAAH Jinny just sent this to me, WARNING it's a complete spoiler of the last chapter of Count Cain! GAAAAAAAH *breaks down in tears* "The web site you are trying to access has exceeded its allocated data transfer." Damn you Geocities! *shakes fist*

3rd Post Tonight XD

Posted by nfpvic at 10:19 PM on January 2, 2004.

Yupyup, trying to fill up my LiveJournal again! XD Since I've been talking about manga sooo much lately, I decided, why not post some pictures?

Today's special treat: Select images from Bus Gamers!
NOTE: This manga was by Minekuram Kazuya and the images are taken from the scanlations done by Ushi. So credits and worshipping go to THEM, okay? ^_~

+ Ooh Toki-chan looking angst-ridden.. cuute there's a bandaid on his foot
+ Subway view of Toki-chan w/ a cowboy hat ^^
+ AWW I love Saitou! And he's blushing while talking to Toki.. hmmm ~_^
+ Waaah Toki-chan again!
+ And Saitou looking sleepy..
+ Concerned Mother Saitou! XD
+ Nakajou's kinda ugly in my opinion, but eh, maybe you'll like him :P
+ Saitou chibi this time! Love the expression
+ And finally, Toki-chan smiling!

Well, that's it, kiddies. I'm going to bed now! So get your butt over to Ushi and read Bus Gamer!

Extended break!! Sort of.

Posted by nfpvic at 08:45 PM on January 6, 2004.

WHOO this week has been, so far, the BEST "back-to-school-from-winter-break" week EVER. *takes a moment to knock on wood* First of all, yesterday school was delayed for 2 hours due to the snow. Then today school and just about everything else was cancelled due to the blizzard. Tomorrow is a late start for sure, then there's just Thursday and Friday! Talk about easing back from vacation :D The best thing is, this means my PNW debate is moved two days back, and hopefully the Honors Math project due date will be moved to Monday instead of Thursday... if not, I'm so screwed X_x;; ick.

Waah I'm happy because I just finished my Honors English research cards.. took waaay too long because it's so hard to find any more new info. I was just kind of making up crap near the end XD but that's okay. In a 5-7 page persuasive essay, are you really going to use 150 facts? I dun think so.

Yesterday was awesome. I'm.. not really sure why XD It was just one of those days that was good for no real reason in particular. Everything just seemed to go nicely. English was easy, Jazz Band was funnalicious (and I love Blue Chip! didn't think I would, but I do now because I playing it like how it's supposed to sound now :P), Orchestra was.. well, painful without a shoulder rest, but I like the song we're playing (Bacchinale(sp??)!). Biology was surprisingly fast, since it was only an hour long due to the late start. Oh, and I love Ray and Tammy. They make Biology so much fun! :)

Oh, and then I felt all smart in Knowledge Bowl because I knew (very relatively speaking) a lot of the questions. And we beat the Juniors one round! HA! XD Yeaah one of the questions was about Claude Debussy and the answer was Claire de Lune.. of COURSE I'd know that one :) I was so proud like a loser XDXDD I'm having so much fun on the sophomore team. SO glad I joined :)

Gaah I have to finish Biology homework now :/ I got to finish up my journal, then my Cornell notes + a worksheet.. aahh stupid cornell notes... grr..

Schoolage and Stuff

Posted by nfpvic at 07:11 PM on January 8, 2004.

Monday: 2 hours late, Tuesday + Wednesday: No school, Today: 2 hours late. Wow, this was the easiest week after break I've ever had thanks to the weather. It's been a rather nice week as well!

Well, yesterday kind of sucked. I spent 6 hours finishing up my Honors Math project (which ended up being 14 pages typed, single-spaced, with 10 pages of scratchwork x__x) that was due today, but this morning my teacher decided to move the due date to Monday. *head bangs against keyboard* Figures. But actually, I'm pretty happy because at least I have it done now, and I don't have to worry about it over the weekend. Plus, I'm pretty if not completely sure that my answer to the first extension is wrong. Blah. Oh well, now I've got the weekend to look over it :D

Today was another one of those "good-for-no-good-reason" days! Actually, today probably should have sucked. I got to school an hour and fifteen minutes before school started because my mom had to go translate at this interpretation thingy at 8:30. I spent a good 45 minutes wandering around the school, pretending that I had somehwere to go XD until I finally found Jessi and everyone else started coming. After that, the day looked better~ Meg made ninja cookies! XD Which were as tasty as they were evil. XDXD Good work, Meg!

And theeen I had PNW. Mr. Hankel decided to move our all of debates back a day, PRAISE THE LORD! So I'm battling Puneet and Nacho on Wednesday. I feel bad for them. I'm going to absotively beat the debating crappage out of those two. Seriously XD Oh, and we also got our explorer essays back, essays that we turned in, oh, in October? Ah, I can forgive Mr. Hankel's lateness though, because for my piece of crap essay, I got a 40/40 and a "May I make copies of this for an example in my other classes?" note on the side. Muahahaa... I rule >:D

German was alright, short :) And then Health went by really really quickly, lunch was relatively uneventful, as was math, and then Knowledge Bowl was canceled :/ suckage. But that's okay. I kind of wanted to go home and do nothing today :P Which is what I'm doing right now! Well no, I made myself a new AIM icon (and yet I'm not on AIM :P), and I'm working on Kat's layout. Es ist schoen so weit! *grins* Hope Kat lurves it <3

A Li'l Self-Analysis...

Posted by nfpvic at 04:22 PM on January 9, 2004.

You know, I think I'm in a drugged stupor every day during Biology class. Actually, I think my entire group is. Honestly XD For instance, today Mr. Gereb was rambling about lenses on the microscope and for some reason mentioned cameras, but then he prounounced it "cammers."

So let's pause right here and discuss. Now, if any normal person were to reflect upon this situation sanely, the word "cammers" wouldn't even be remotely funny. In fact, if I were in any other situation than in that classroom, I'd belittle the idiot who found humor in his odd pronunciation. ..yet in Biology, me and Ray were CRACKING UP for like 15 minutes straight XD we could not stop laughing, which was really bad because we were supposed to be taking notes and Mr. Gereb was getting all mad. ...XD it's still hilarious to me when I think back on it, too! Crazy. Maybe we're getting high off of some mysterious chemical fumes coming from underneath the lab sink..

It's all good though. The drugged stupor really helps me get through that class :D With Gereb, if you don't find ways to amuse yourself, I think the atmosphere will drive you to insanity or suicide. Boredom + confusing biological jargon + anal, angry, pit-stainy teacher = major suckage. But if you add a couple of friends and a weird sense of humor, the class is more than tolerable-- actually, it's quite enjoyable :) I might even miss this class next semester.

...

...cammers. *cracks up*

Interesting: Today I found my close friend Jinny's art being used as an icon without her permission by some person neither of us know on tabulas.

Even more interesting: we both commented in her tabulas, casually informing her that the image was Jinny's, but she could use it as long as she gave credit and next time ask first.

Most interesting of all: both of our comments were ignored and deleted.

...

And now she's going to be beaten down.

[And just a little FYI for the viewers:
Jinny's Picture || The Plagiarizer's Icon]

UPDATE:
Well, what a coincidence! After I posted this entry, Milfie decided to ask how to credit dear Jinchan, and has done so. Therefore, she is forgiven. Oh, and I thought that she posted something on my tabu, telling me to "chill," but hmm, damn, wherever did it go? >:D

Today was sooo good. Ahh, I haven't written here for a while, but right now I don't have time to make a decent entry >__<; Why? Because I procrastinated my math homework. ._. But at least I did my health somewhat on time! Or else I would have been screwed.

Well, this entry has no point. I think I'll end it now then!

Okay, that's it.

Posted by nfpvic at 04:45 PM on January 16, 2004.

I need a new layout for this tabulas right now. Something just clicked in my brain, telling me that this layout and the icons are old and need a-changin'.

Okay, so anyhoo:
Today wasn't bad! I had my debate for PNW; it went quite satisfactory, to say the least :) I think I scared some people, or at least I gave them some sort of rude awakening. I seem to give off an image of being the gentle losery smart person in the back of the room, and today I showed my... aggression? Muahaha. Losery and smart? Oh yeah. Gentle? *pff* Not when it comes to competition >:B

German + Health + Math = boring as hell. I'm --sooo-- mad that I'm not sitting next to Heather in German! *kills fate* And if we don't have German together next semester... *shakes fist*

Dagnab, I have a goodly lot to say here, but I'm getting kicked off :/ will finish later!

I'm thinking of adding some raindrops to the blue and arrows or something to the gray background.. :/ I'll finish it tomorrow; right now I want my sleep! *grins*

Doin' a little shoutout :P

Posted by nfpvic at 07:26 PM on January 18, 2004.

[WARNING: this post is extraordinarily sappy. Skip if need be.]

I'm lucky. I'm really really really lucky. I'm not sure if I'm going to explain everything to the online journaling community, but I know I'm at least going to mention this:

First thanks goes to Jinny and her family. She came to my house today and brought me cinnamon rolls to cheer me up! I was so touched I started crying again XD; I'm such a dork. But seriously, thanks so much Jinny!

Thanks also to Ray and Heather. I talked with them online, and they were so supportive :) Heather gave me some wonderful advice, and Ray reminded me else something very important (though I won't say it here because that'll ruin it-- think hard enough and you'll probably get what I mean).

Despite everything, today I just feel so thankful. I love you guys!

No bounce no play

Posted by nfpvic at 10:27 PM on January 18, 2004.

I just finished Stephen King's 879-page novel, Dreamcatcher. WOW, that was a confusing story. ..and it didn't help that I took a 5-week break in the middle of the book, thus forgetting most of what happened earlier.

I liked a lot of the concepts King messed around with, especially the Mr. Gray/Jonesy mind thing.. however, the ending kind of, quite frankly, sucked :/ A little lame, a little sudden, and not enough closure, I suppose. It leaves you with that empty feeling of "Oh. That's it?" Don't get me wrong; Dreamcatcher was still a nice read, but I liked Desperation better. Now THAT was intense :D

..and it didn't have boring-ass parts involving a pointless idiot named Kurtz *rolls eyes*

Free Association!

Posted by nfpvic at 07:24 PM on January 19, 2004.

Taken from Unconscious Mutterings :D It's basically this word association thing where you write the first word that comes to your mind after reading the given word. ... Webster needs to invent some synonyms for the word, word. XD (okay, so I'm lame AND an idiot, so what? :P)

1. Berry:: Froot Loops
2. Fiendish:: Black and red smiley faces (o_O; )
3. Bar:: Candy
4. Frank:: Barbeque (frank --> frankfurt --> hot dog --> bbq)
5. Bend:: River (the one in Pocahontas XD)
6. Fanatic:: Baseball
7. Belch:: Soda
8. Flagrant:: ....dammit, no! I can't say it because too many people from school have my Tabu link XD;
9. Burden:: Biology
10. Flimsy:: A wilting flower

God Bless Dumb Luck.

Posted by nfpvic at 03:38 PM on January 20, 2004.

Reasons why I was screwed today:
- English book share-- I didn't remember a lot of what happened in the beginning of the book, and since there were so many people who needed to log pages, I probably wouldn't get to do it
- Jazz Band-- I didn't practice jazz AT ALL over the weekend, and I have a freakin' long solo in one of the songs
- Orchestra-- Again, didn't practice AT ALL over the weekend
- Biology-- HUGE FINAL TODAY, 100 questions with a 60-70 minute time limit, and I didn't study AT ALL.

How I survived to tell the tale:
- English-- Instead of the book share which involves talking/explaining/testing, we had to summarize basic novel stuff (plot, characters, etc) on a 5x7 notecard
- Jazz Band-- By the good grace of god, there was a SUB!!! I screwed up my solo horribly, but it was really, really funny instead of.. life-threatening
- Orchestra-- 1/2 the period: independent practicing in the hall
- Biology-- Surprisingly easy final (looooots of review questions we've had on previous tests) that was easy to finish within 30 minutes, with a simple, bs-able 10 point extra credit essay

Someone up there loves me. XD

*fanfare* Lo, it's a new layout!

Posted by nfpvic at 10:46 PM on January 24, 2004.

Hey guys, new layout! Nothing like what I had planned :P ...and honestly, I don't like it. *falls* Hours and hours of work for a merely "okay" end result. Bleh. Disappointing, too, because I thought it looked so nice in Photoshop! oh well. Oh! I wrote a poem to go with the layout.. actually, it was a lot more prominently used in a previous version of the layout (this stupid thing went through SEVERAL extreme metamorphoses before I finally coded it). But I still used it and it's still there, so I'll post the poem here anyhow :D

An Ode to Nonsense
By Victoria K.

I’m a silly little girl, I admit I know and knew;
I speak of silly scenes and things and make-believe them true.
I think up silly little thoughts and silly little dreams
Where everything is what it is and always what it seems.

I guess I’ll mention something else that sounds a little strange:
My silly little mind can’t control my silly brains.
It gets confused with all the stuff that life is trying to say,
So a silly thing called ‘love’ decides that it can save the day.

And here I am, not really here, not really in control
Like witnessing my life as just another passing soul.
And as I watch my silly heart ponder what to do,
I murmur, “Silly girl!” as it falls with love of you.

---
Barfingly cute, eh? XD As was the intent. Well, I'm going to sleep now. Maybe the layout will look better in the morning :/

Must have been the Chinese food

Posted by nfpvic at 11:01 AM on January 25, 2004.

I had the strangest dream last night. I dreamt that Canada was taking over the world via game show. This gameshow thing was a televised international competition kind of like the Olympics, but for everything besides sports. And the games were really, reaaally nerdy. For example, there were dictionary rewriting competitions and music playoffs and stuff like that, and Canada was killing all the other nations. And through all of this, Canada was like, proving its intellectual dominance over the other countries and was warning everyone that soon they would rule the world.

...wow, even my dreams are retarded XD

THE JUSTICE LEAGUE!

Posted by nfpvic at 05:53 PM on January 26, 2004.

I need to borrow Zach's Justice League T-shirt. And if he won't let me borrow it, I shall jack it using my stealthy ninja skills XD

See, in Knowledge Bowl we had to decide on team names for the different grade levels. Cap'n Tommy wasn't here for the sophomores, so it was up to me, Laura, and Ronnie to decide. I personally wanted to be called "Two guys, a girl, and a Mormon" or "The Mighty Ducks," but my associates wouldn't agree >:O Sooo me and Ronnie decided to compromise on, as you may have guessed, "The Justice League!" YEAAAH!! (yeah, so the juniors and seniors may have mocked the name. their team names were SO MUCH GAYER than ours XDD I'll post them here when I remember them :P) But anyway, now I need that shirt. And I mean right this second. Damn it! If only I had Zach's phone number.. or if I could send psychic waves in his direction to tell him to bring that shirt tomorrow.. or if I just had his shirt :P

Today was an energetic day. I love my new math class. Mr. Buell is the BEST; I love him already :D He's so bumbley and just.. positively gnarly. The class period actually passed quickly, and for the first time in a very long time, I was having fun in math. I sit next to Jessie and Puneet and kinda close to Amy, which also helps~ yay!

Tomorrow I have Biology w/ Mangrum (yeeah~ xc coach! :D), followed by Intro to Business Law (I have no idea who else has that class -_-; I know I'm going to be -such- a loner..), then Careers (Jessie and Jinny!), then Lunch, and finally, Deutsch (mit Heidi!!
