Ahh, journaling.
Posted by nfpvic at 03:45 PM on October 12, 2003.
Man, I suck at these journal things. No matter what type of journal I get, I can never get myself to post regularly XP Oh well, I'm posting now!
Just finished my rough draft of an essay for PNW. It's pretty rough, as my English teacher would say. It's probably much worse than writing I've done last year, but bleh, I'll un-crap it later. Rough drafts are allowed to suck.
I need to finish my Honors English essay that's due on Tuesday. It's an essay on
Lord of the Flies, a book that I despise. The topics were pre-chosen for us, too. You could choose to write about how "Evil always predominates once law, order and decency are broken," or "Good can still prevail in a world where law, order and decency are broken" (err something like that), and then we have to use examples from LotF to back up our ideas. But really, if we can only use examples from LotF, then... can't we only write about how people are savages without society to conform it? Since.. that was Golding's point in his novel... how could we find examples
against his viewpoint in a piece of writing he wrote himself? Ugh. So I've chosen the "Evil always predominates" one even though I don't believe it. GAAH, so this essay is a killer to write. Plus, this isn't a topic that you can write on about for any longer than, oh, say one paragraph, and we have to have 5 paragraphs total. That doesn't seem like much, but when a misplaced comma can dock you an entire 10% off the grade of the paper... yeah. You really have to nitpick over every #$@*in' word of your entire essay.
But onto other topics...
HaHA, I went to Goodwill today to get my gay Orchestra uniform. (long-sleeved, black collared shirt with a full-length black dress.. uggllyyy >F) I decided to go to Goodwill instead of somewhere, er, normal, because I already had to spend $65 on a fancy-pants dress for jazz band, and I can't freakin' wear the same thing for orchestra (because it doesn't have long sleeves >__< retardedness!!) hehe the entire outfit cost me around $15 ^_^ Ohhh, and guess who I saw there? GAIA! HAHAHAAA that wonderful little dudechick dislikes me with a passion, or at least I think she does. And whereas I'm proud to frequent the ol' G-will, she's one of those who'd feel ashamed to shop at thrift stores... Crap, my orchestra concert is on the same day as a cross country meet. Crap, I'm gonna be rushed that day ~_~ Oh well.
Oh, my birthday is coming up on October 30th! (and ooh raspberries Heather's birthday is Tuesday.. must fix up something for her!! x__x;; ) I don't know what I want... I've been searching for PS and PS2 RPGs that could possibly interest me.. I mean, I have the famous ones (the final fantasies, chronos trig/cross, kingdom hearts, harvest moon, even wild arms and okage) but I'm missing a lot of the lesser known games. I've been considering getting
Disgaea or
Persona II, or maybe
Grandia II or
Xenosaga.. *sigh* so many games to choose from, yet which ones will I enjoy...? I'll ask Jinny later. And maybe Chase or Zach in English Tuesday XD

Yogurt is the BEST
Posted by nfpvic at 03:59 PM on October 14, 2003.
I love eating yogurt after cross country practice! Actually, I think I just love eating in general XD but that's okay~ Cross country was nice today. Short and easy run. Tomorrow we have a meet against Bethel and Spanaway Lake. Which isn't really too important to me, considering I'm the second slowest person on the team. But I'm proud of that 2nd slowest! I used to the very dead-last slowest (by a huge distance too, too!) and I've worked my way up to ALMOST the very dead-last slowest :D But I might lose that position after tomorrow's race.. meh, oh well.
Orchestra concert tomorrow. I should really practice tonight. But will I..? Maybe. I gotta sew up my skirt, too (I did get it at Goodwill, afterall, and it was kind of a "fixer-upper"... only about $5-6 though!). Dang.
Crap, I forgot to ask Chase about a good RPG to get >_o I'll have to remember to do that in English on Thursday. English was great today, since we didn't have to take the Lord of the Flies quiz. THANK GOD. (Literally XD I actually prayed aloud with Kat right before class that we wouldn't have that quiz, since I would have failed for sure. ^^ Real life proof that God answers prayers!) but gaah, we have to go to the freakin' library next class time. I _hate_ the librarian. She's just got this evil look and she's all cranky and creepy all the time. And she always has this strained, evil smile forced on her face that reminds me of... of... I dunno, something bad nevertheless. It's kinda funny--you can tell that even the teachers hate her. Especially my English teacher XD
On a random shift of subject, Jazz Band's awesome. I love everyone there and I love the environment, even though I kinda feel out of place sometimes 6^_^ I don't really have any close friends in the class, and as the pianist I don't have any neighboring musicians to chat with (versus like the trumpets or saxes that have their stand parters to talk to). It's kind of lonely... but I still love it! ^^
Orchestra is always scary, but fun, like a rollercoaster XD Scary because I'm in the front row. Fun because it's music. Today was nothing special, but I almost had a heart attack when someone told me practice cards were due today. (If you forget to turn in your practice card, the highest grade you can get in the class is a C o_o;; ) but they weren't; they're due any time this week. Thank you again Jesus XD
Ahh there's something else I want to mention, but I think I won't say it here x__x; ask me if you're a school friend and you really wanna know :D

Crap, I suck again! XD
Posted by nfpvic at 08:33 PM on October 15, 2003.
Ahh I knew it. I'm the slowest runner in Cross Country again XD oh well. I did pretty badly at the meet today, even for me o_O I wasn't feeling good though. I have a cold and I've been groggy all day *sniffles* Gaah I'm still groggy.
I got back from the meet at 6:30, and I had to be ready for orchestra at 7:00, meaning my dinner consisted of poptarts, a granola bar, and salad. (muu I'm hungry..) The orchestra concert went alright, even though my skirt was a bit.. ghetto... due to my 2-minute crapass job of mending it XD And we messed up in the fourth movement.. I remembered to repeat, MONICA remembered to repeat, LANCE remembered to repeat, but so many others did not ~_~;; we're almost definitely gonna hear about that tomorrow.
School was okay today. PNW was boring as usual, and I am really starting to hate Hankie (currently calling him that because he allegedly gets really pissed off if you do XD) He's one of those teachers who WANTS his students to be wrong, and he resents the 4.0 kids >_o; Grr. Deutsch... was boring, but it could have been worse, I suppose. Health was boring too, but we got a new seating arrangement! I sit with the angry kids who all hate the class, probably because I'm one of those angry kids who hates that class XD XD It's wonderful, since no one talks to each other. Peaceful, relaxing.. still a worthless, completely retarded class though. Math was boring too. GOD, all my even day classes are boring. Painful >_o
Crappiiit, I have a Biology quiz tomorrow, and I really don't know what it's going to be over.. I mean, he gave us the guidelines, but we haven't learned anything, so what are we getting quizzed on...?
Well I'll go study then. Or sleep, whatever comes first. :D

My nose itches. *pokes at it*
Posted by nfpvic at 08:50 PM on October 16, 2003.
Finished my final copy for my PNW essay. It's not bad. Definitely not my best writing, and if I had turned that in for Honors English, I'd die, but definitely not bad. Hopefully good enough for an A.
Hmm, what happened today? Well, the library thing in English was incredibly painful, but I didn't fall asleep! YES! And I have the only A out of all 3 English classes, with a percent of 98.7 :D Jazz band involved getting hit with paper footballs, Orchestra involved cookies and learning how to flick paper footballs for an assured revenge next Jazz Band period (thanks Lance XD), and Biology was hell as usual. But the quiz was easy ^^
I skipped Cross Country practice today. I felt way too sick to run x__x I hope I feel better tomorrow.. I don't want to miss school; it's too hard to make up all your work!
Gaaah, I have math homework to do. Haven't even glanced at it yet.. I hope it's easy and doesn't require a graphing calculator *must remember to purchase one over the weekend*

I'm so tired x___x;
Posted by nfpvic at 09:28 PM on October 18, 2003.
Tonight was... a night of learning, I suppose XD;; hehe, that's all the public needs to know.
But what's good: I got to have a nice long chat with
Megen,
FINALLY! I really haven't talked with her in forever.. due to schoolness and lack of being on AIMness.. so I'm really happy that we got to chat like back in the good old days XD we're gonna hang out tomorrow too, and possibly bake cookies ^_^ I'm excited!
I gotta go now because it's past my bedtime :P

"Noo! You ate the fish that was gonna eat Tommy!"
Posted by nfpvic at 04:34 PM on October 19, 2003.
Today, I procrastinated all of my homework (w/ the exception of practicing for Jazz Band) so that I could hang out w/
Meg. DEFINITELY worth it :D:D We made Halloween cookies and I attempted to decorate some with our super-fun frosting. The results were.. amusing. XD Lots of fun though!
Gaah, I'm so nervous for the band concert tomorrow! I'm afraid of messing up my really minor, no-big-deal-but-I'm-freaked-out-anyway-solo... well, if I do, I'll just pretend that I was "improvising," only very, very badly. Ah, that's the beauty of Jazz. XD
Hmm, I should be doing my PNW project that's due Tuesday, but I really don't feel like it at all. We have to make a poster about the explorer we researched, as previously mentioned. ...Is it just me, or does that seem
reaaally 4th gradeish? Saah, good old Mr. Hankel. ^_^; Instead of the poster, I think I'll make myself a new buddy icon. Yes, yes, that's a good idea XD

Plato, like the clay.
Posted by nfpvic at 03:43 PM on October 21, 2003.
Yesterday was long. Cross Country was merciless; we were running through buckets of rain for about an hour, and by the end, we were all completely and utterly soaked. I could have walked straight into the ocean with my clothes on, and I literally wouldn't have noticed a difference, except for the sudden drop in temperature and the shark gnawing at my leg. Point being, it was horrible. Buuut it felt great to get home and dry! *grins*
Then I ate dinner and off I went to the band concert! My dress is waay too big for me, and I almost fell flat on my face about.. what, five? six times? Hehe. I think I did pretty well individually (yeaaah I don't think I messed up my solo! though to be honest I don't really remember..), and as a whole, all the bands were pretty good. Still, I really don't want to hear the recording of Jazz Band tomorrow. I hate hearing myself play! It's practically torture..
Today I have a bit of homework: 25 notecards of research on Greek Philosophy (Plato, to be exact) and I have to final copy all of my crap in my Biology notebook. Luckily, there's a late start tomorrow, so I'm not screwed if lethargy/apathy starts to get to me by the end of the night. Sweet deal.
OH MY GOD I just remembered that Jinny's off playing golf at Districts. BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF EVERYONE, JINNY!!! YEAAH!! YOU'RE GONNA MAKE IT TO THE 2ND DAAAAAY!!!!! *jumps around and cheers like an idiot* I really hope she does awesome, has lots of fun, and makes all the other golfers feel bad with her obvious superiority! Go Jinny GO!
oh yeah..
Posted by nfpvic at 09:49 PM on October 21, 2003.
And I forgot to mention, yesterday I almost killed a frog in Honors English by knocking over my teacher's aquarium. But that's anther story, and it's past my bed time :D
October 22nd, 2003
YEAH, 90th!!
Posted by nfpvic at 08:18 PM on October 22, 2003.
I got 90th place in the Cross Country meet today! XD I'm so happy-- I wasn't last and I beat my last time --AND-- I have retaken my title as 2nd slowest person on the team! (versus 1st slowest) YES!!!

Woo, we lost our homecoming game!
Posted by nfpvic at 09:20 PM on October 24, 2003.
I went to the Homecoming game today and we lost 13-21, but luckily I don't care the least! High school football games aren't about football, afterall. Hehehe. It was so much fun. I'm not in Pep Band, but I got to sit with the band anyway because I'm in Jazz Band! Thank you, Mr. DePalatis!! So I got to talk with Meg and Barret the entire time. It was great! Me and Barret had some.. "interesting" conversations ("Oops, I bumped you on purpose because I hate you." "Shut up Barret!" "Just shut up Victoria." "You're so evil!" "I only tease people I hate" "Well I only talk to people I hate!" etc.) and then I just had a blast with Meg because I always have a blast with Meg, hehe. Oh, and then once the guy ahead of us spit his Baritone spittle all over the girls in front of him *cracks up at the memory* it was so hilarious! Well the girls seemed pissed, but oh well~
[EDIT: Okay, so it's not a baritone. It's either a saxaphone or a bass clarinet. Thanks Meg! :slaphappy: ]
Ah, I wish I had gone to more football games! Of COURSE I choose the last game of the season to go to one :bored: Well, there's always next year. Plus I can sit with Pep Band at basketball games! I'm gonna ask Mr. DePalatis if I could buy a mini keyboard and play with everyone! ....or maybe I'll just continue to sit in the middle of the trumpet section with meg and barret...
I'm not going to the homecoming dance tomorrow night for a variety of reasons, which is okay because I have no desire to go to that dance.. but I really hope Monica has fun with her date! *giggley giggley* Monica, if you're reading this, you BETTER tell me everything afterwards :)

Praises, complaints, the usual..
Posted by nfpvic at 05:02 PM on October 27, 2003.
Whoohoo, Cross Country got out really early today! :D That makes me happy. We had like, a 5 minute run, then two strides, then we're done! FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON! That was the last practice, hehe. Tomorrow's the Non-Qualifier's meet for all us sucky people. I'm excited; we're only running 1.82 miles! YAY!
School was average. PNW was crap, like usual. Gah, the teacher.. pisses me off. We got back our scores for our presentation, and I got a 38/40. Why did I miss two points? I have no idea! The only comments he put were
positive comments, except he told me not to look at the clock... yet for that part of the grading scale, I got full credit. Seriously, I think he marked me down because he didn't want me to get 100% on all of his assignments (which I've been doing so far this year). He keeps on saying how "hard" his class is and how hard we must work to maintain an A, so he doesn't appreciate smart students. He doesn't like
me at least; of that I am certain.
He's also so retarded when it comes to current events. He likes to give us local articles from the paper, hear our responses, then "counter" our arguements to get us to think in different points of view. That would be perfectly fine if his arguements weren't completely pathetic. For example, we were talking about taxes and crap and how the police want higher taxes to hire more officers and thus, reduce crime. I said that instead of throwing money at the officers, they should shift their focus from handing out speeding tickets to actually
stopping crimes. Maybe they could separate officers who focus solely on traffic violations and petty crimes with the real police who actually work, and then a lot more work could be accomplished. Mr. Hankel's brilliant response? "But some officers might think that giving out tickets brings in money. They don't want to lose money by focusing on real crimes."
...okay... that'd deviating from the point. And if anything, doesn't that reinforce my point? By saying that, Hankel was saying that if they were making a genuine effort to reduce crime, then they wouldn't need an increase of taxes. So...? How is that countering my arguement? Grr I hate that class :yuck:
On the other hand, I'm liking Deutsch class more and more each day :) If we were actually learning new material, that would probably be my favorite class next to Jazz Band. Mrs. Bensch is just making a really great effort to try to teach effectively to everyone, and I really appreciate it! Ich habe Frau Bensch gern! :D
Oh,
I saw this link on Yahoo! and I thought it was pretty nifty. Interesting way to represent a lot of common health disorders of today, I think.
Ahh, I'm getting sick of this layout. Already. Kind of sad, yes, I know :-D Expect a new one "soon!" hehe
Heck yeah!

Ow, I burnt my tongue on pizza. Ow.
Posted by nfpvic at 04:52 PM on October 29, 2003.
Interestingly, I actually have a lot more respect for my PNW teacher after class today. First of all, we're going to take our quiz next time (YES!!). Second of all, he actually did some
teaching today. Wow. Not just taking notes. Impressive. But what really impressed me was his view of politics in school. Somehow the issue of Iraq and President Bush came up in our incredibly ignorant class, and government/Bush bashing ensued. Some students were asking for Mr. Hankel's take on this, and he basically said that he's not going to give his opinion, since no one in this class really knew anything about politics other than what the liberal media feeds into them, so it'd be pointless to try and discuss anything. If we want to discuss politics, we should first
know about the subject. I completely agree with him on that. I know jack about that stuff, but hey, I admit it. So I hate it when other people bash or praise the government without any sort of basis whatsoever. Like this dumbass girl in the class who kept going, "Bush sucks; I want Clinton back! We didn't have any problems when we were with Clinton!" ~_~;; Oh yes, it's George Bush's fault that America was attacked by terrorists. THAT'S logical. Hehe it was funny because the guys around me were making goodly fun of her blatant stupidity :slaphappy: It made me smile.
Deutsch, on the other hand, kind of really sucked. Frau Bensch
finally attempted to give the second years more material to learn, which was good. BUT to do this, she decided to give us this HUGE and gay assignment in the last 20 minutes of class, due by the end of the period! Needless to say,
no one finished. And for some reason, she got really pissed when anyone asked if they could finish it at home for homework o_O That really confused me. I got a lot farther on my assignment than most people did, but still... that was retarded.
Health was retarded, too, but not as much. We had an in-class essay to do about the mental illness we researched earlier. I hate in-class essays, but it was simple enough and I finished by the end of class, so it was all good.
Lunch was the usual. Hehe, I was going to freak out Monica by telling her how hard the PNW quiz was, and I even had her going for a while, but then I was like, "aww screw it" and just told her the truth (we didn't take it). Monica's so funny! Refusing to admit the obvious.. and what is this obvious thing? Well it's so obvious, I'm not telling :P If you don't know, you're not supposed to know, so yeah. End of subject.
Math was pretty average, too, except I got to work in partners with Heidi (Heather)!! YAY!! Heidi ist meine Deutsch-Schwester XD Jaja! (I really hope there's no one German reading my tabulas.. they'd be reading all of this weirdass completely incorrect German :-D )
NO CROSS COUNTRY FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR!! PRAISE BE TO JESUS!!! It was so wonderful to go home on the bus! Heather's there too, and so is Connie and
Jinny and Angie and a lot of buddies :) Connie told me that Kaitlyn thought she still had cross country practice, so she missed the bus! *cracks up* Silly Kaitlyn! (by the way, please forgive me if I'm misspelling your name, hehe) Moral of the story: the bus is a wonderful thing.
Overall, today was a nice day. Some bad things happened, but it was one of those days where you just felt good for no good reason. It was, well, nice. Full of happiness :) Now I've got to finish up my English homework. I betcha I'm doing it completely wrong. Hmm, oh well.
I should probably get around to introducing myself..
